SPOTLIGHT on SUZANNE
Celebrating and Scoping/Scooping
Celebrating exciting news! Once again, Suzanne Brown Jewelry has been juried into the highly regarded Celebration of Fine Art – a 10 week exhibition under the big white tent visible from the Loop 101 on the southwest corner of Hayden Road in Scottsdale, AZ.
As a selected jeweler, I am devoting the upcoming months to creating the finest in expert handcrafted bracelets, earrings, pendants and rings that will be available for purchase (some exclusively) January 16 through March 27 at the 2016 Celebration of Fine Art.
Connect with me at Studio 245 – the same spot as in 2015 – mid-center on the far north aisle. The tent is open daily 10 am – 6 pm for a full ten weeks – come early for the best selection. For Details and Map click here.
Scoping out a jillion JEWELS, fabulous FOSSILS, magnificent MINERALS, significant STONES, a bounty of BEADS and GEMS galore at Jewelry Week!
I was thrilled to be face-to-face with (if I wanted to) as many as 4,000 vendors at the recent Jewelry Week in Las Vegas. Held annually (end of May – early June), the town plays host to one of the largest jewelry shows in the world. Mandalay Bay Hotel & Conference Center is the huge hub of what’s known as the JCK Las Vegas “show experience”. My design inspiration comes from the natural shape, colors, vein patterns and luster of the stones I select and set.
At the Vegas show, I acquired an outstanding magnesium sulfate stone – rather round and sized somewhat between a quarter and a silver dollar. I am excited to begin designing a pendant and excited for you to see this beautiful stone as exotic as the place it came from – Jakarta.
And talk about exotic – just a week following the Vegas show, in Indonesia, featured news from The Jakarta Post, June 11, 2015 reads:
Rubies from Tanzania, Yemeni red coral, blue black sapphires from Sri Lanka and Achenese nephrite laden on dozens of tables turned Tabanan’s I Ketut Maria Hall into an Aladdin’s cave last week.
Organizers of the inaugural National Agate and Precious Stone Exchange and Exhibition say they were as staggered by the quality and volume of stones as by the extraordinary numbers of people visiting the three-day show in Tabanan, Bali.
“We are really, really amazed. We never expected a response like this. We have 67 exhibitors from across Indonesia and thousands of people have come to the show,” said organizing committee head… Read more…
